Moldova – Stories of Success

The beginning of 2026 marked the launch of an advertising campaign for Moldova, developed across the media platforms of the BBC.

The first phase of the campaign was the launch of a dedicated online section highlighting the country’s export potential — including food products, fruit and wine exports — alongside a separate section focused on international technology companies that are choosing Moldova as a base for their investment projects.

Working on these materials allowed us to rediscover a country we believed we already knew well. We are confident that the international audience will also reconsider long-standing perceptions and see Moldova in a new light — as a beautiful country with a growing economy and significant export potential.

The section dedicated to wine and fruit exports clearly demonstrates that this potential is already being realised in practice. In 2024, Moldova exported more than 266,000 tonnes of fruit and nuts, accounting for 6.6% of the country’s total exports, with the majority of shipments destined for European markets.

Moldovan wine exports reached £180 million in 2024 — the strongest result in many years. Compared with 2023, this represents a 22% increase. Today, wine exports account for approximately 3% of the country’s gross domestic product and around 7% of national exports, while the sector employs more than 150,000 people.
